Scope Summary
Micron Group was commissioned to install new CCTV, access control, and intercom services at one of Sydney’s unique locations, 143 Macquarie Street NSW. The security and CCTV installation was completed during a full building make good renovation. Micron Group engineers completely removed all existing access control, CCTV, and building intercom services, new systems were installed and integrated and to the buildings communication room.

Unique feature of this project
For the CCTV system, Micron group engineers specified Avigilon cameras, combined with the latest Avigilon video management software, the solution integrated to servers running the latest Avigilon analytic software. Inner Range, Integriti, was specified by Micron Group engineers for the access control system, due to its compatibility and high-level integration with the Avigilon CCTV system. Hikvision was specified for the buildings integrated intercom system. Avigilon Cameras installed throughout the building were used to monitor foyers, lobby’s, end of trip facilities, and common areas, providing comprehensive coverage of all building locations. Micron Group engineers installed Avigilon cameras in the buildings’ elevators using our VDSL2 technology to transmit the signal to the Avigilon VMS management system. Micron Group installed Avigilon cameras externally, and at strategic locations ensuring the buildings perimeter was monitored 24/7. Externally Micron engineers opted for the Avigilon H5SL series of Vandal proof IP rated cctv cameras, a modular design with Integrated POE, IR Illuminators, Wide Dynamic Range, Weather & Impact Rated, Remote Focus & Zoom, complete with outstanding Audio Capabilities.

Integriti access controllers complete with electronic locks were installed at all doors, auto-doors, and gate locations. Micron Group engineers specified and installed over fifty HID IClass proximity readers to all entry exit locations on all floors. Hikvision intercom units were wired and installed by Micron Group technicians providing audio and video communication to tenancies on all 12 floors. New communication data racks complete with widescreen monitors were installed within the buildings communications room and integrated with the building management office via Cat6 data cables providing an exceptional user interface.

Challenges
Designing the new Integriti access control system based on the existing backbone cabling infrastructure proved to be particularly challenging. All existing cabling was identified, mapped, and properly labelled before as-built designs could be finalized. Access control integration to the buildings elevators was designed using in-house VDSL2 technology. Micron Group installed CCTV cameras inside each elevator, twin copper cables were used to transmit full HD video back to the Avigilon CCTV VMS video management system.

Delivery
The project was completed, integrated, and commissioned by Micron Group engineers and technicians, successfully, ahead of time, and within budget. Comprehensive training, specification and software manuals provided to the security and facility staff.
