In the fast-paced world of electrical and data installations, meeting strict deadlines while ensuring high-quality work is paramount. Recently, our team undertook an exciting project for the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) that required a warehouse to be equipped with power and data. With an ambitious timeframe and several intricate tasks at hand.

Partnering with the NSW Government, Micron not only completed the project ahead of schedule but also ensured that every aspect was executed to perfection. In this blog post, we’ll delve into the details of this remarkable project and how Micron rose to the challenge.

The Scope of the Project

The Australian Electoral Commission required a comprehensive fit-out of their warehouse space. This encompassed the installation of power outlets and data connections across various locations within the warehouse. Notably, the project had some unique challenges, such as the need for an Elevated Work Platform (EWP) to install cables at high levels.

Micron’s Commitment to Excellence

Micron, renowned for its expertise in electrical and data solutions, took up the challenge with unwavering determination. Our commitment to delivering top-quality work within the stipulated timeframe was evident from the outset.

Here are the key aspects of Micron’s contribution to this project:

Micron expertly installed 49 double General Power Outlets (GPOs) as per the client’s drawings, which were presented on the first day of the project. These outlets were strategically placed to ensure efficient access to power throughout the warehouse.

Data Infrastructure Implementation

One of the central aspects of this project was the installation of data connections throughout the warehouse. Data infrastructure is critical for modern organizations, as it supports various operations, including communication, data storage, and information sharing. Micron’s expertise in data solutions ensured that the AEC’s warehouse had a robust and efficient data network.

Data Outlets and Distribution: To meet the AEC’s requirements, Micron has strategically installed data outlets at various locations within the warehouse. These outlets would allow for the easy connection of computers, printers, and other devices to the data network. Proper distribution of data outlets ensures that employees have access to data wherever they need it, promoting productivity.

Cable and Mechanical Protection: Ensuring the safety and longevity of the installations, Micron provided robust cable and mechanical protection in areas where it was needed, safeguarding the infrastructure from potential damage.

High Bay Lights: An important aspect of the project involved investigating high bay lights outside the loading dock. Micron’s experts meticulously examined the lighting situation and made any necessary adjustments to ensure optimal illumination in the designated areas.

Relocation of Lighting Circuits: To streamline operations, Micron relocated three lighting circuits and switched the high bay lights inside the loading dock entrance to the correct switchboard. This critical step improved efficiency and ensured that the lights were supplied from the right source.

Conclusion

Micron’s successful completion of the Australian Electoral Commission’s warehouse fit-out is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence in the field of electrical and data solutions. The ability to work efficiently within a tight timeframe and deliver top-quality results is a hallmark of our expertise.
